I designed Djinn Wall so I could make a living wall in my studio/lab. I wanted a system that was open-source so I could customize it for my space, 3d printable so I could assemble it inexpensively over time, and DIN rail mounted because a) I wanted the whole thing to be Raspberry Pi controlled with a bunch of sensors and automatic watering, and b) DIN rails are cool. I couldn’t find anything like that already in existence, so I made it.
Djinn Wall is a play on words (Djinn…DIN) and since living walls are alive and kinda magical it seems fitting.
